About the area

WELCOME TO LINCOLN, MISSOURI Lincoln, located in Benton County in west-central Missouri, could easily be described as "The Front Door to the Twin Lakes Area of Lake of the Ozarks and Truman Lake". Truman Dam, located at Warsaw, 10 miles south of Lincoln, separates these two great bodies of water. Fishing, boating, swimming, water-skiing, sailing and camping are enjoyed by young and old alike on both of these premier lakes. Bass, crappie, bluegill and walleye are just a few of the fish to be pulled from these waters. Numerous fishing tournaments are held on both lakes. The spoonbill, a prehistoric looking fish, has its own special season in the spring from March 15 to April 30. It is not unusual for these fish to weigh in at 80+ pounds and contests for the biggest catch are held annually. One outstanding oddity about these fish is that they are only found in this area and China. Located between Lincoln and Warsaw, you'll find the largest fish hatchery in the State of Missouri! This impressive State Conservation Department facility is open to the public and has freed fishing for 15 year olds and younger with pole and bait included.

Nearest cities: Ionia, MO (7.7 miles), Cole Camp, MO (10.0 miles), Warsaw, MO (10.6 miles), Tightwad, MO (16.2 miles), Windsor, MO (16.3 miles), Green Ridge, MO (16.6 miles), Calhoun, MO (20.8 miles), Sedalia, MO (22.6 miles)

Hunting is also extremely popular in our area due to the timbered, rolling hills making up a large part of the area surrounding Lincoln. White-tailed deer, wild turkey, duck, quail and small game abound in the area. Additionally, since Truman Lake is a Corps lake, approximately 300,000 acres of public lands surround the lake creating great habitat for all kinds of wildlife
